Good morning Delegates! Today is June 23rd, 2026. This week will be a hot one so make sure you all are drinking plenty of water and staying hi-drated! Water fountains are located in your dorm hallways and you may always fill a water bottle up at meal times.
Yesterday your county’s election results were revealed and all delegates in office will now attend their respective meetings. You also had the general election in which delegates were announced for the Supreme Court, and speeches were made for the Supreme Court and Superintendent of Public Instruction. Additionally, we hope you had a great night of listening to speeches and voting for your endorsed delegates! Reminder for the week: please check the schedule so you know when you need to be at meetings, meals, and assemblies. Also, no delegates should be in their dorm rooms while city or county meetings are happening.
Today you will be selecting primary State elections from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m during city meetings. Please make sure to be on time and bring your electronic device to the meeting. Cities will be meeting in their assigned city hall, so be ready to vote for your favorite candidates for Attorney General, Controller, Governor, Insurance Commissioner, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Supreme Court Justices. Remember, you will be voting for one of each role and seven supreme court justices. Additionally, if your political party has endorsed a specific person for specific roles, help your party out by voting for them this morning!
Democracy will be in action from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Delegates who are a part of various councils, courts, committees, and boards will be in session in the previously discussed locations. Delegates who are not a part of these will remain within their residence halls for the entire duration Democracy is in action. Remember Delegates, this is not recreational time and Starbucks or the American River Store cannot be visited.
All delegates will be attending two general assemblies today. Firstly, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we will have a general assembly to discuss the results of the initial election and the Delegates in the running for State positions. Then later from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., there will be another general assembly to present the candidates who continued on to the general state elections. The ballot will be discussed and speeches will be presented.
Lastly, we will continue hosting party meetings for the Whigs and the Federalists respectively. Today, Whigs will be meeting in the Dinings Commons lawn while Federalists will be meeting in the University Union. This will be from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and you must remain with your party for the entirety of this meeting.
This has been the June 23rd Morning Announcements. We sincerely hope that everyone has an amazing day today, here at California Boys and Girls State. Thank you!
