Another warm and sunny day at Boys and Girls State provided delegates an opportunity to showcase their creativity through their outfit. Our delegates were looking sharp. Some dawned fun hats, shiny jewelry, fun backpacks, and more to customize their American Legion shirts. While still repping American Legion shirts, delegates stood out from the crowd with their unique fashion choices and individual styles. Their fits' subtlety tell a story of what each individual hopes to achieve and the values they hold here at state.
Eric for example, wore an American flag not only to represent the nation he stands for but to stand out.

He stated, “I had to take it into consideration that I have to raise my money by today.”
Similarly, Kyra Titus (image 2), a member of the city of Beard, showed a similar approach with her favorite piece of clothing: her red camo pants. As a delegate running for fire chief, Titus knew it would portray her interest and dedication to the job. She also bedazzled her arms with beaded friendship bracelets to add some charm to her fit. Her hat also demonstrates her leadership experience with her National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) cap.

Delegate Luke’s outfit, especially his hat, not only protected him from the sun but it also highlighted his expansion within Boys and Girls State.
He commented, “I'm not usually a hat person, but I thought, you know what? This is gonna be a new experience so I'm gonna try something new.”
Additionally, the sign on the back of his shirt showcased his openness to new conversations and friends. It reads, “The guy with the straw hat is where it’s at.” It demonstrates his lighthearted nature and his boldness in one gesture. The delegates truly have demonstrated their creativity today.
