Three times a day, all of the candidates here at CBGS have filed into the Servery in droves. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the entire room is filled to the brim with fresh eggs, burgers, pizza, and much more. The complete lack of cost for this food has enabled students to stack their plates high with their favorite foods.
For many delegates, the chicken nuggets and seemingly infinite salad bar have been the highlight of their meals. Delegate Magaly McKay (Hurley), and Dane Becker (Baker County), each gave a “9/10”, and “a solid 8.5” on their meals, respectively.
Still, the constant source of free food is not free from criticism from delegates. One item has been subjected to heavy scrutiny: pizza. Delegates far, and wide have criticized the freshly served italian dish, like Carter Green (Chandler), who described his disappointment in that “[he] kind of imagined it to be like Costco pizza in a way, and then [he] bit into it, and instantly realized that that was not the case”. This lack of familiarity was juxtaposed by Dane Becker, who instead found the food to be similar to his school pizza. Yet, the two would still end up agreeing in the dissatisfaction, with Becker commenting, “the worst thing [I’ve had] is the pizza."
Luckily, many delegates have still been able to find comfort in their meals. The burgers, salads, and sweet treats have been able to provide comfort when everyone is so far out of their comfort zone.
