Look Inside: Senate and Assembly

SENATE: Today's Senate meeting started a little hectic but quickly settled down and got straight into business, planning committees and new bills. After some discussions and collaborative thinking the committees were created on broad ideas for specific bills. The committees surrounding Finances, Education, the triple E’s (Equality, Equity, & Election), and the Environment.  

ASSEMBLY: The Assembly has been extremely productive in both forming committees and creating bills. The Environment, Finance, Infrastructure, Boys and Girls State Affairs, Defense and Veterans Affairs, Bipartisan, and the Education Committees have all been created! In the finance committee, an Assemblymember proposed a bill to amend the tax in the bill from a $1 to $10. However, it was quickly broken down and a 5% tax on daily profit was then proposed. Unfortunately, it was never brought to debate but Assemblymembers are consistently hard at work to make new legislation. Go Assemblymembers!
